Timeline

2007

The Mattress Warehouse was founded by Zaach Smith on 26 June 2007 when the first warehouse’s doors opened in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. The warehouse started out as a traditional Brick and Mortar store already treating customers to a wide range of beds for sale.

2012

The company soared to new heights when they launched their very own e-commerce store, www.themattresswarehouse.co.za in August of 2012.

2014

Midrand Warehouse opens in April.

2015

In April, the Cape Town warehouse opens its doors. Soon after, the Polokwane warehouse opens in August of this year.

2016

Irene warehouse opens in September.

2017

The Durban warehouse opens in August with Randburg following in December.

2018

This was a big year. Alongside the Port Elizabeth warehouse opening in October, we were proud to reach a milestone of having 100 employees in The Mattress Warehouse family.

2019

In July, the Boksburg warehouse opened its doors. Following a month later, the Bellville warehouse opened up.

2020

Our Bloemfontein warehouse opens in August.

2021

Our George warehouse opens in June.

To help customers find the best bed for them we offer a 100-day comfort trial. This allows them to test the bed rigorously. If the bed is not perfect for them they can then exchange the bed for another of equal value.
