Trust the Experts: Top Bed & Mattress Questions Answered

What is the best size bed for couples?

We recommend queen or king-size beds for couples in the main bedroom. The perfect fit will depend on your weight requirements and unique sleeping style.

What is memory foam?

It is a foam that was originally developed by NASA with high-relieving capabilities. It releases pressure from the pressure points on the body and increasing blood circulation. Memory foam softens in reaction to body heat allowing it to mould to a warm body in a few minutes. Memory foam works well in combination with other foam layers or springs. Find out more.

What is a spring mattress?

There are two main types of spring mattresses: the one is Bonnell spring and the second one is pocket spring. The Bonnell spring is the old conventional spring unit where the springs are connected to each other and are in the shape of an hourglass. The pocket springs are packed individually and wrapped in a fabric pocket into the mattress unit. Because the springs are not connected to each other there is less movement transfer between sleeping partners. Find out more.

What is a latex mattress?

A latex mattress combines foam with either springs or reflex foam. You get both natural and synthetic latex. Find out more.

What is better: memory foam or latex foam?

Memory foam is heat sensitive, meaning it becomes softer with heat and has pressure-relieving capabilities. Latex also has pressure-relieving capabilities, but has a more bouncy feel and will keep this feature even under higher or low temperatures.  We suggest you contact one of our salespeople to find out what suits you and your budget. We can help you find the right mattress.

What is better: foam or pocket spring mattresses?

Foam mattresses work better for heavier people. These mattresses also have zero movement transfer between sleeping partners. They generally have a firmer solid feel. Pocket spring mattresses are generally your most luxurious mattresses and designed for ultimate comfort. These mattresses have limited movement transfer between sleeping partners.
