Usually, when a product doesn’t work anymore, etc. your hairdryer, microwave, kettle, or its functionality is impaired, you know that the time has come to replace it. However, the realization that it is time to replace a base and mattress isn’t always so obvious. Often times an old mattress represents the same to us as a favourite old chair or a pair of worn shoes – comfort, even though it has long lost its ability to provide your body with the proper support that it needs. It is all good and well, but the downside of this is that by continuing to sleep on a worn-out mattress compromises your health and ability to feel your best and to function at your best. Some time or another you will have to make that decision to replace the mattress. The best would be to evaluate your base and mattress set on a regular basis and not compromise the quality of your sleep at all.
You wake up every morning with aches, pains, numbness, stiffness.
You sleep better in another bed (when visiting family/guest house/hotel)
Your mattress shows one or more signs of overuse: tearing, sagging, holes, staining, ripping. ]
You have slept the whole night but wake up tired.
Your mattress is seven years or older – The durability of a mattress depends on various factors, etc. its original quality and amount of use, but a good rule of thumb is to check your mattress thoroughly if it has been in use for seven years or more and access whether it is still providing you with the best comfort and support. Remember, as we age our bodies change and our need for comfort and support increase. At this point, it is wise to compare your mattress and base with newer models and if you have to replace it, don’t hesitate.
